Englisch – Into the Blue Icons

I just wrote a little Tutorial, and I hope you get my point. I’m sorry if you don’t, but you know English is my second language.
So let´s start.
This tutorial is about this icons.

You need the following resources
Textur1 von Pinterest
Textur2 von Pinterest
Textur3 von So-ghislaine
For all icons I use the font Calibri and the color #27a8c9
I explain each icon individually. At the beginning, I actually only need 1 single texture for the icons. Textur1 . I reduce it a bit and put it on the icons. That looks like that for me.

How you look unspectacular. It continues now individually.

ATTENTION IMPORTANT !!! Since I do not use color for the icons, it is very important that you pay attention to the colors of your pictures. So either use the same shoot with the same exposure or adjust the images that just the skin color is similar in all. Otherwise the icons will not look good |
Icon 1
I
Here I first put a person on the icon.

Then I create a rectangle in the color # 19befb with the rectangle tool

. This rectangle gets from me a layer style with a gradient and an outline in the color #f7f3ee.

I put a second picture on the icon and make it black and white (Image -> Adjustments -> Black & White).

Then I set up theblending modes on Multiply

Since this looks pretty crap right now, I’m using a clipping mask by going right to the black and white image and selecting create clipping mask

The image gets in the layer view so a small arrow down. That means the picture is now only on the level directly below so on my form.

After that, the icons look like this

Then with the Polygon Tool

I create three pentagon in the color #e1dfdb and give them an outline with the color #27a8c9 and a size from 1px.

Still text and this icon is finish.

Icon 2
Wuuhiii the icon here is very fast. So first a person on the icon. It may hang here something in the air. I place them where I got the line out of the texture.

Now I put the first text on the icon.

And because it’s so beautiful, text again. This time I’m backing up the little text with bars in the color #13a9e8 and #cccbc6 my text just reversed the same colors.
And the icon is finished

Icon 3
I
The next one is also easy peasy.
Again, I first put my person on the icon. This time in black and white. I leave left and right on my icons an edge of a few pixels, so that here and there still the texture with the stroke looks on it

Now I’ll pick up the rectangle tool

and create a rectangle in the color #19befb. The rectangle gets from me a gradient and a contour with the color #f7f3ee
And that’s the icon already done

Icon 4
IThe icon is a little trickier but not really wild.
I create a pentagon with the polygon tool

, the color does not matter, because I directly take a image with the help of a clipping mask (with right on the image layer) put on the pentagon

Then I make the picture black and white (image -> Adjustments > Black & White)

Now I put a new fil layer on my icon (Layer -> New Fill Layer -> Solid Color) with the color #19befb. The blending modes I set up Multiply .

Now I duplicate the pentagon from the beginning once, move the duplicate in the layer view all the way up and give it a fill color #19befb a 1px contour in the color #ffffff. Then I set the opacity of the area to 0%f

The icon looks like this

Now I duplicate thepentagon once and turn it 180 degrees

And duplicate again and tilt a bit.

Now I create two small pentagon again.

with the help of a clipping mask there are two small pictures on it. I leave these in color.
And that’s the end of the icon.

Icon 5
IFor the icon, I put a person on my icon and make it black and white. It does not look like it at first, but I’ve released it.

Now I take the polygon tool

and create pentagon. Once with the color #13a9e8, once with the color #e1dfdb. I give them a contour in the color #13a9e8. Maybe it makes no sense with the blue ones, but if I put a picture on it, you can not see the color anymore and only the outline

so it makes sense later.

I now duplicate the pentagon as much as I can and distribute it on my icon so that they fit together

I duplicate further and some of them I give with the help of a clipping mask (with right click on the image layer) a colored picture.

Now I go back to my Great Woman, give the picture a layer mask and erase it behind the pentagon.
Without the pentagon it would look like this.

With my icon, there is not much difference, but depending on the image and image color, your background behind the pentagon can be very dark or restless, so it is important to get a clean picture.
And so is this icon finished.

Icon 6
I
Last Icon

I think that’s the most elaborate one, but that’s still possible. So, let’s go.

First I put a black and white person on my icon, set it free and see that it is only on the left edge of the icon.

Then I create a rectangle in the color # 19befb with the rectangle tool

. This rectangle gets from me a layer style with a gradient and an outline in the color #f7f3ee.

As with Icon 4 I create a pentagon with the polygon tool

and give it a fill color #19befb one 1px contour in color #ffffff. Then I set the opacity of the area to 0%.

I duplicate this pentagon two times and turn both pentagon so that they are different.
The icon looks like this.

Now I create with the polygon tool

again 3 pentagon and give it a fill color #19befb a 1px contour in the color #ffffff. I make this pentagon small

Then I pack my first text on the icon. Depending on the page, I give the text a different color

Now my second person comes to the icons.

With the help of a clipping mask I put a color area (layer-> New Fill Layer -> Solid Colora) on my little person. In the color #dfdfdd.

Then I duplicate my little person again and move them over with the color plane. I moved it one pixel to the right so that my little person gets a bright edge.

Now only text in the top two small pentagon and the icon is finished

Finish
fThe attentive tutorial hobbyist will have noticed that there is a difference between the icons that I have just described and those that I have posted in the top of the start.

And with that you are absolutely right: happy: There are still missing the two textures that I linked with at the beginning
And I put these in my finish on my icons now.
For this I will finish my icons first. Speak like they are right now. Save all 6 once as a PSD. So you have all icons once safe.
Reduce every single icon in its file to one level. (layer-> Flatten Image). Then you have 6 files whose layer view looks like this

I always like to use old icons sets as a template, then it always looks the same. So I open an old graphic and drag the icons over there

When all the icons are over there, I sort my icons to fit them. My layer preview now looks like this. 1 time my old set and 6 new icon

Depending on the icon set, I now create a new color area under the new icons (layer-> New Fill Layer -> Solid Colora)

For any other set I would now text on it and done is the whole but here I want to do something else with the icons.
So now I’m blanking out my old background and the new one.

Then I reduce all visible levels (layer-> Merge Visible). And then your layer view should look like this.

And your icons will not have a background anymore. But are almost a png.

Now I put texture 2 and texture 3 on my icons. For both layer i set the blending modes on Screen . I reduce both textures to 50% and place them the way I like them best.

Since I now only have the textures on the icons, I give both textures a clipping mask (right click on the texture layer)

Now just turn on the background again and give the whole child a name and finished is the iconsset
